My new love is my Orbis Ring Flash adaptor...
I had mine for about a year and have not really used it or got results that I want - often under exposed. My triggers dont fit an SB-900 so had be using the pop up as a trigger.
Recently I purchased a TTL extension cord enbling me to both use the SB-900 tethered off-camera, but I could also but a wireless receiver on the cord to trigger the flash wirelessly.
The difference was amazing, it seems that trigger in a different way has brought the best out of the Orbis.
I used it both as a standard ring flash and as an off camera flash modifier, which gives amazing soft light.

Earlier this year I was asked to shoot Maraschino Crush's new range of custom clothes - unfortunately the weather turned from the warm sunny start we had to wet, cold and even snow - despite being 20 degrees + the day before.
Not wishing to highlight that is was actually raining - natural light was used despite havign dragged lots of lights up with me.
The cold weather was harsh on the models who were wearing summer outfits in freezing conditions - for most of them this was the first time in front of the camera.

Exciting times here at Scott Chalmers Photography! Over the past 15 months I've collaborated many times with Sharon and Gloria at the Vintage Hair Lounge. We've produced some really striking work, and have always enjoyed working together. I am very proud to announce that we are now able to offer a complete vintage hair and makeup photoshoot package, which can transform you into a sultry starlet, movie megastar or vintage vamp. http://scottchalmersphotography.bigcartel.com/product/vintage-hair-lounge-makeover-shoot

Here are 3 images taken from the resent shoot with Vintage Hair Lounge and Hand Picked Vintage.
Taking inspiration from classic 1920/30s portraits, 3 looks where achieved...two very deliberately vintage in style and editing and one much more contemporary look but using vintage styling techniques and vintage outfits and jewellery. The key to each image is lighting and the control along with the depth of field - which was kept deliberately shallow
Each image was shot using one key light.
The black and white head shot was using a large soft box to give a large soft light source almost as window light.
The two darker images were shot using a gridded beauty dish.
All images were taken using a Nikon D80, Bowens Gemini 400w lamps and Cokin ND filters.
